Interview: Beate Böer

Luca Curci talks with Beate Böer, alias Leilani Euphrosyne,
during ALCHEMIC BODY at THE LINE Contemporary Art Space.

Leilani Euphrosyne was born in the beautiful town of Schramberg in the middle of the Black Forest. Her art is inspired by various styles from around the world and her favorite color palettes depict Hawaii, the Seychelles and Zanzibar. She draws and creates from within. She also exclusively employs Aura Soma essences, which are selectively and skillfully mixed into the partly crystalline colors to intensify the deeply positive and inspiring effect of her art. All of her works exude lightness and cheerfulness, and radiate femininity and pure joie de vivre.

Luca Curci – What’s your background? What is the experience that has influenced your work the most?
Leilani Euphrosyne – I have traveled the world as a flight attendant for Lufthansa – I have always been fascinated by foreign people, their cultures and above all by the world’s most diverse artistic genres. Also, I have always been interested in painting. As a flight attendant, I was very close to the sky. Now I paint to experience the sky down on earth: I am a real globetrotter who discovers herself while painting.

Luca Curci – Which subject are you working on?
Leilani Euphrosyne – Currently, I am working on “Flowers of Peace”. I dream of leading a very special workshop in which the participants create a large painting of peace. In alphabetical order, I would invite Angela, Donald, Emanuel, Kim, Recep, Vladimir… I would visit them all in turn with a large suitcase full of bright colors and a huge canvas. With my enthusiasm and my “Aloha Spirit” I would quickly enchant and motivate everyone to participate! Life is magic! Under my guidance, each one of them would happily participate and trust in their own creativity and inspiration. At the very first stroke of the brush, they would feel any skepticism evaporate and the brushes dance or even fly over the canvas. The resulting artwork – very colorful, courageous and sparkling with joie de vivre – will be given the title “Flowers of Peace”. It will be a symbol for the belief in everything good in all mankind – connecting cultures, nations and religions.

Luca Curci – Where do you find your inspiration?
Leilani Euphrosyne – Longing is the driving force behind all becoming, it is the force that leads us to our destiny and inspires our soul. Longing motivates us to act and to develop. It gives us courage and joy and gives us the energy to make possible the impossible. It is our innermost feeling, the voice of our soul. We all long for creative expression, for life, for ecstasy, for joy, and for fulfillment. Above all, we also long to give from an overflowing heart. We long to experience new things, to discover, to know and to understand. If I really feel my longing, I am no longer dominated by it. It is then a feeling that I perceive deep within and that connects me with myself, with my innermost being, and makes me wide awake and present. At the same time I am connected to an internal power flow that pulls me towards realization. And suddenly what seemed hopeless before or was just a beautiful fantasy has become a real possibility.

Luca Curci – What is your creative process like?
Leilani Euphrosyne – I thank heaven that I have finally arrived in my own creative flow. Writing and painting is an expression of the creative being! For many years I had to function perfectly in the outside world – I used a lot of energy to somehow keep family and work and everything around in balance. There was little time for creative moments and a look inside. Too little for real leisure or even a creative flow. Definitely too little to really meditate in the deep spaces of the body and soul… I missed that very much at the time. And now I know and feel deep within my heart that only here can there be real nourishment and only here can true bliss arise. First of all, I now always aim for my inner bliss and keep it firmly in focus. Imagination is a wonderful catalyst for this. With the help of divine grace, I now consciously and completely enjoy where I am – in this moment. My calm breath shapes my consciousness! More being than doing. I have arrived in myself! I smell the scent of the flowers and feel the warmth of the sun and absorb it completely. The imagination of bliss and the conscious focus on it were the beginning of my change! As if I had finally remembered the meaning of my name “Beate”: the blissful, the blessed. From here I came into my radiance and began to pass on my own zest for life with enthusiasm: through my being and through my paintings. Painting became my passion! I feel deep happiness when people see and feel my paintings with their hearts, open themselves inwardly and enjoy them! My power images also inspire your soul!

Luca Curci – What is the most challenging part about creating your artworks?
Leilani Euphrosyne – To transport out the feelings I would like to express.

Luca Curci – What is the message linked to the artwork you have shown in this exhibition? How is it connected to the theme of the entire festival?
Leilani Euphrosyne – The most important thing for an artist is to be deeply connected to the four elements: Fire, Air, Water, Earth. From this source, I get all my inspiration. Only this creates abundance and brings to life what my longing is: The “Re-Enchantment the World” on one side, and on the other side bringing pure presence with my “Flowers of Peace”.

Luca Curci – Do you agree with our vision of art and what do you think about the theme of the festival?
Leilani Euphrosyne – Yes. And the theme is a very interesting state of mind for our most challenging times.

Luca Curci – What is your idea about ITSLIQUID GROUP?
Leilani Euphrosyne – Active, creative, good sense of humor, connected to people all over the world, helpful, charming, patient, always approachable.

Luca Curci – What do you think about the organization of our event?
Leilani Euphrosyne – Everything went nice and smooth, Thank you very much, I really appreciate it!
